There are lots of medicines out there that do not have to be chemically induced. There are natural medicinal cures out there that may be cheaper and could help as well. These herbs are helpful to know, so when in case you’re stuck in the woods without medication, you may just look for these herbs.

One herb that has been used for ages already is the blackberry. This herb has been used to help diarrhea and general restoratives. This is because of the presence of gallic acid and tannin on every part of the plant.

Blackberries are picked and dried. It is then powdered to be stored in case diarrhea hits. It is then mixed with water. The leaves can also be used as a tea. The leaves should be boiled or steeped for at least five minutes. The simmering bark of the root can also be used as a cup of increments for several days.

The stimulating smell of blackberries can also be used to help people with colds and flu. It must be mixed with vinegar though. If they mix the water of the boiled leaves with vinegar, it is said to help gout and arthritis.

Fever can also be lowered by boiled blackberries mixed with vinegar. Mouth irritations like canker sores can be helped by boiling the shoots of blackberries. It may be because the blackberry possesses astringent properties.

It is also said that the tea form the leaves can cure the upset stomach.

The leaves of Blackberries are available at health food stores or you can dry the leaves yourself.

The stimulating smell from the juice of the blackberry can also be sued to stimulate the heart and the body. It is also helpful in overcoming times when a person feels bad.

To make an invigorating smell , you should press the blackberry for its juice. For every quart of the juice you should add the following: a half or an ounce of nutmeg and cloves, 2 to 2 ½ pounds of sugar or 2/3 cup of honey. The mixture should be heated and simmered till it becomes like syrup. The syrup could be mixed with brandy to taste better. When you use honey, the shelf life is cut down. It may even be fermented if not kept cold.

It can be made into a compress to sooth the throat when mixed with vinegar. Dip the cloth into the vinegar and warp it around your throat. Then wrap it further with more layers of cloth.

To make vinegar out of blackberry, clean the berries first and place in a covered non-aluminum container. Pour the apple cider or the malt and let them set for 3 days. Then strain it in cheesecloth or a strainer. Don’t force it though and let it drip on it’s own.
